Privacy Policy

Brian Garlock Construction LLC, doing business as BGC Expert Contractors (“BGC,” “we,” “us”), operates www.bgcexperts.com and provides roofing, storm restoration, exterior and general contracting services in North and South Carolina. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use and share it, and the choices you have, including for text messages.

1. Information we collect

Information you give us: your name, email, mailing and property address and phone number (including mobile number); project details such as photos, scope of work, insurance carrier and claim number; communications with our team by phone, email or text; and, for invoices, your billing address. Card payments are handled by a PCI-compliant payment processor. We do not store full card numbers.

Information collected automatically: when you visit our website, our host and the font service we use receive standard log data such as IP address, browser type, pages requested and time of visit. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. Your browser may store your light/dark display preference locally.

2. How we use your information

• To respond to inspection and estimate requests, schedule appointments and complete your project.
• To send text messages you have agreed to receive about appointments, project status, documents to sign, account verification codes and customer service.
• To communicate with your insurance carrier when you authorize us to do so for a claim.
• To issue invoices and receipts and to process payments.
• To meet legal, licensing, warranty and record-keeping obligations and to prevent fraud.

3. Text messages (SMS)

BGC sends informational, non-marketing texts only to people who have opted in. Messages relate to your inspection, appointments, project updates, document signatures, account verification codes and customer-service questions. You can opt in in any of these ways:

1. Website forms. On the inspection and contact forms at www.bgcexperts.com, you may check an optional, unchecked-by-default box next to this disclosure, with links to this page and our Privacy Policy:

   “I agree to receive text messages from BGC Expert Contractors about my inspection, appointments, project updates and customer service at the phone number I provided. Consent is not a condition of purchase. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help. See our Privacy Policy and SMS Terms.”

   Checking the box is never required to submit a form or to receive an estimate or service. If you leave it unchecked, we will contact you by phone or email only.
2. Written service agreement. Our service agreements include a separate, optional SMS-consent section with the same disclosure. You may sign the agreement without opting in.
3. Verbal request. If you ask a BGC team member by phone or in person to receive project texts, we read you the disclosure above and record the date, time, team member and disclosure version in our project system. The first text we send confirms your enrollment and explains how to opt out.
4. Texting us first. If you text a BGC business number, we will reply to your question. Replying START or UNSTOP re-enrolls a number that previously opted out.

Consent to receive texts is not a condition of any purchase. Your consent applies only to BGC Expert Contractors’ text program and is not transferred to anyone else. You can opt out at any time by replying STOP (or STOPALL, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, QUIT, REVOKE or OPTOUT). We will send one confirmation and no further texts. 4. How we share information

We do not sell personal information. We share it only as needed to provide our services:

• Crews and subcontractors working on your project receive your name, project address, site contact details and scope of work. They do not receive your SMS opt-in status or consent records.
• Service providers that operate systems for us, such as our customer-relationship and project-management software, text-message delivery, e-signature, payment processing and cloud hosting. They may use your information only to provide services to BGC and not for their own marketing.
• Insurance carriers and adjusters when you authorize us to communicate with them about your claim.
• Legal and safety disclosures when required by law, court order or to protect rights and safety.

We do not sell, rent or share your mobile phone number, SMS opt-in data or text-messaging consent with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text-messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties.

5. Data retention

We keep project and customer records for as long as needed to provide service, honor warranties and meet legal and tax obligations. SMS consent records (the disclosure shown, its version, the date and time, and how consent was given) and opt-out records are kept for at least four years after our last text to you so we can prove consent and honor opt-outs.

6. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

7. Your choices and rights

• Opt out of texts at any time by replying STOP.
• Ask to see, correct or delete your personal information by emailing office@bgcexperts.com or calling (919) 926-8553. We may keep records we are legally required to retain.
• Ask us to stop phone or email contact by telling any team member or emailing us.

8. Children

Our website and services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information. Only adults 18 or older may opt in to text messages.

9. Other websites

Our site links to third-party sites such as manufacturers, review sites and our financing partner. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. The effective date at the top of this page shows the latest version. We will not apply material changes to text-message consent you gave earlier without notice.
